Silly Bandz continue to take over the media, as they are a feature story on the front page of Yahoo today. Yahoo asks "Are Silly Bandz Just A Fad?" Their main headline also says "Silly Bandz try to be more than a fad." Under the headline, a blurb says that Silly Bandz have done more than $100 Million in sales, but skeptics are calling them a one-hit wonder. The headline links to a Wall Street Journal article that talks about other toys that became popular like Slap Wraps, Pet Rocks, and Pogs, but then failed to remain popular for very long. The article also provides examples of other crazes like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Beanie Babies that did manage to last for quite some time. So are Silly Bandz just a fad?
